About the Tutor

I began my working life as a cabinet-maker having served a four year apprenticeship. My passion for clocks was ignited when I was asked to make some new clock-cases for a customer.

Then twelve years ago I started renovating the movements. I attended many short courses including four years with David Churchill.

At the age of forty I made a life changing decision to alter direction in my career. I undertook a full-time course at West Dean college, at the end of which I gained a Post Graduate Diploma in the Restoration and Conservation of Antique Clocks.

I have also qualified as a Graduate member of the British Horological Institute.

I work on all sorts of clocks from servicing to full re-builds and am fortunate enough to have the clocks collections of Parham house and Bignor park in my care.

My hobbies include building new clocks using antique movements, utilising both my skills in woodwork and clockwork.

I have a passion for old Ferguson tractors which I restore and am building a third full -size Garrett steam engine.

If you have any questions or are interested in attending one of my courses please get in touch.
